tech buying flow chart
this is now my flow chart for buying new tech. no more getting that new thing, no more wanting that one new small feature. follow the chart!

past memorable decisions
- upgrade from iphone 16pro -> 17 (non-pro)
- decision: no upgrade
- reasoning: wanted to get more storage on phone, did not need extra cameras, but not necessary.
- hindsight: correct decision. better to continue using and also reduce phone usage
- upgrade from iphone 13pro -> 16pro
- decision: upgraded
- reasoning: avoid having to have a separate subscription for satellite sos
- hindsight: correct decision, no longer paying for garmin inreach, saving over $100/yr
- upgrade personal macbook air (m1, 2020) to m4
- decision: no upgrade
- reasoning:
- hindsight: correct decision, not hindered on anything
- get new handheld vacuum
- decision: got new one
- reasoning: old vacuum battery dying, replacement cost high
- hindsight: correct decision, old vacuum barely runs 5 seconds before turning off
